_Kingsolver Says, I Say...

Although not all of what Kingsolver said resonated with me, this particular quote seemed to make perfect sense. I interpreted it as a message to take our own paths in life, rather than conforming to what is trending or what everyone else is doing. Being on multiple athletic teams in high school, I realize that everything I do seems to be mirroring what others on the team do. We all begin to act alike, dress alike, and even talk alike the more time that we spend together. As "cool" as I may find this, it's not following Kingsolver's message. I need to take a step back and focus on being an individual, because as she makes a point of saying, inward individuality is more valued than that of outward conformity.
